From luxury goods and travel to retirement
housing and entertainment, experts from an eclectic mix of consumer categories
will gather for the Fifth Annual Beyond The Numbers — Boomer Marketing Summit,
April 6 & 7, 2006, at the Eden Roc Resort, Miami Beach, FL. Companies as diverse
as Toyota, Anheuser-Busch, Viacom, P&G, Coca-Cola, Coldwell Banker and Humana
will attend the conference.
Sponsored by JWT Mature Market Group, the purpose of the conference is to teach
marketers how to sharpen their marketing efforts and increase their sales to the
baby boom generation. According to conference chair, Lori Bitter, JWT Mature
Market Group, « The seventy-eight million boomers, who annually spend $2.1
trillion, have begun their turn toward sixty, once the baseline for retirement,
leisure and snowbirds. For marketers, boomers are begging the question, ‘Is
sixty the new 40?' »
Beyond The Numbers will explore that question with research, case studies and
general sessions offering participants the most up-to-date information and
techniques learned from the most successful boomer marketing efforts. Highlights
include a case study of the benchmark « Right Hand Ring » campaign; an on-stage
case-study interview with Les Garland of MTV fame; new research from JWT MMG, C&
R Research, MORE magazine, and Focalyst/AARP; four ‘how-to’ workshops; a panel
session on the travel/luxury segments; and a keynote by John Erickson, CEO and
Founder of Erickson Retirement Communities. Other sessions will target change
management, retail, consumer behavior and women fifty plus.
In addition to JWT Mature Market Group, Focalyst/AARP Services, MORE Magazine,
WSL Strategic Retail, Erickson Retirement Communities, PMP, The Tube Music
Network, Fine Living Chanel, Os-Cal® and AARP Publications sponsor Beyond the
